Nah. I feel like retro is a term specific to its era and will remain there. A bit like how the modern era (about 1500-1900) is not really contemporary, despite the name. Retro-music, retro-games, retro-aesthetics are fairly omnipresent throughout the oughts, 2010s and 2020s so even people for whom "childhood" or "what my parents used to watch/listen to/play/do" starts much later still have a clear association with the world of "retro" and pixel art, baggy trousers, pink-cyan color scheme, etc.
