Depends on the game. I would never pick a female character in an MMO game (not that anyone still plays those 🥴). If a game has a strong/established character, there's no way I'm breaking it so Shepard is a guy all the way, Tabibito is looking for his evil imouto, space express houses a girl who likes to break rules, etc. If the game makes males into roided ogres and females are relatively normal (think Borderlands 1), I'll go with the girl. Conversely if the game transplants an Onlyfans model for their female character, I'll stick with the guy no matter how he looks. Et cetera, et cetera.
