Moral thing is to return it or deliever it to the police so the owner can have it back. Unless no one is from the area and is just there, then it’s free game.

If the person dropped it in front of me, I’d run and give it to them, other wise I’d keep it if it’s no where someone. During work a lady almost left her iPhone in one of my carts and I gave it back to her, she was very happy and so was I but my intrusive thoughts started coming as soon as I gave it. I disliked that.

The best thing would be to just take the money and leave it there cos the police here will take the money before returning it anyway. if the police was honest I'd give it to them.

See if there was a phone number in it, if so I’d call or text the owner. If not I’d probably take it to the police station after counting the money cause I don’t trust it wouldn’t be stolen and I’d want the owner to get it all back.
