Years when discord was more mean and rules were less enforced, I was often harassed and verbally abused for my username and for the fact I was Canadian. I wanted a way to show people I was Canadian, but only if the other person was Canadian as well. Trillium grandiflorum is the official flower for Ontario so people who know and like Canada will see my username and make the connection. This way I get to speak to people about my country who won't insult me for it and I don't have to risk trying to speak about it to people who are meanies.
