I was awakened to thanatophilia after watching an advertisement for Secret of Mana, and I used to play funerals with stuffed toys. When I read Anne of Green Gables as an adult, I saw Anne Shirley playing Ophelia and saying things like, "Drowning is romantic!" and I was so relieved to see that I wasn't the only one lmao
