I'd love to study a lot by myself, but I usually lose my interest if I'm forced to study because of homework. What a paradox I guess it's because homework is an imposed "task," while self-study is something of pure interest and fun

In college homework is quite helpful because it serves as actual practice of the concepts you're learning, which require a lot more practice than anything at a high school level or below. For high school and below, however, homework is often just busywork. In some cases it can be helpful, like in math, where the constant practice of the concepts you're learning helps solidify them in your mind, but in most classes it's just a review of easy material you've already learned. Granted, this can vary per person; some people get a lot more out of homework than others. But that itself is a problem too, I think. The people who don't need homework shouldn't be forced to waste their time doing it

When constructed with thought along with material it's very useful and fun, at least in college. It was a pain in previous schools but now that it's well prepared it saves me so much time. You need a ton of repetition anyway so having exercises made specifically to build your intuition and make you aware of common mistakes and traps is just perfect. Cheers to my calculus and digit circuit professors

Back when I was in school, last school year, I had an English class where I did zero homework. Back then I was good at English already. When I attended class I aced every worksheet and task they threw before me. Didn't get anything less then the best grade in all the tests either. The teacher knew that if they didn't get me a passing grade, they would not be able to argue it, but due to the lack of homework alone they gave me the lowest passing grade possible.

There is a reason why almost everyone doesn't like doing homework, it's not that the review itself is a bad thing it's necessary but the system behind it should be reworked imo

Unnecessary torture, historically was punishment. Doesn't help, just gives burnout I hate it 0/10.

It is of significant importance to success, although sometimes tedious.

In my opinion, whether homework is helpful or not may largely depend on an instructor's capability. Homework which is carefully adjusted to adequate complexity for each learner is capable of increasing students' sense of efficacy and improving their understanding. In contrast, an assignment that gives an excessive burden quantitatively or qualitatively can stir up lots of unintended problems which bring interest in learning down. Meanwhile, very easy-to-complete assignments might be discouraging to learners, making them think of homework as unnecessary activity. Therefore, I think homework should be appropriately challenging and not overly difficult or uninspiring to motivate students.

Depends whether this is from HS or College. If it's from HS, them it's not worth the stress. I remember just doing the homeworks that I found interesting. Usually ones from English. Sometimes physics. College, great. Cuz if it's a subject I like, it gives me something to do and gives more time for discussion inside the room. If not, then it's a godsend cuz I probably either didn't understand the subject or wasn't listening. So I have more time to answer or research.

shouldn-t exist, because I think it-s enough for the student to just study what it-s programmed to the class, and then, It should be self learning, not just leaving a lot of useless homework
